Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of the treatment in vitrectomy for posteriorly dislocated lens after trauma. Methods Standard pars plana vitrectomy were used in 32 eyes whose lens dislocated into the vitreous cavity.Lens were removed through the limbus of cornea after infused perfluorocarbon fluid infusion, and some lens were fragmented in the vitreous cavity.Anterior intraocular lens or ciliary sulcus fixation lens were implanted at the same time. Results The dislocated lens were successfully removed in all these 32 eyes.Introcular lens were implanted in 28 eyes(87.5%),and the visual acuity increased at different level in all patients. Conclusion The lens that dislocate into the vitreous cavity should be given vitrectomy as early as possible.Intraocular lens implantation at the same time is recommended. This treatment could improve visual function and decrease complications.
