Clinical observation on modified Hotz’s operation for the treatment of severe upper eyelid entropion

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Hotz’s operation combined with eyelid gray line incision and autologous tarsus filling for the treatment of severe upper eyelid entropion. Methods Twenty-eight eyes of 25 patients who were diagnosed severe upper eyelid entropion, were treated with the surgery of modified Hotz’s operation combined with eyelid gray line incision and autologous tarsus filling. Results The follow-up duration was 6 months to 24 months, all patients were satisfied with this surgery, no recurrence. Symptoms disappeared and the patients had not new uncomfortable feeling after the surgery. Conclusion It is a effective and safe method with low recurrence rate that modified Hotz’s operation combined with eyelid gray line incision and autologous tarsus filling for the treatment of severe upper eyelid entropion.
