Abstract

Objective To study the efficacy and surgical method of angle-closure glaucoma ( ACG)in persistent high intraocular pressure (IOP). Method 42 cases (45 eyes) with ACG accepted trabeculectomy in high IOP.Puncture and release of aqueous were done twice preoperative and intraoperative.Visual acuity, filtering bleb, anterior chamber,IOP and complications were observed after operation. Results All of the 42 cases (45 eyes) underwent surgery successfully. There were no complications of perichoroidal space bleeding or prolapse of vitreous occurred. Conclusion Trabeculectomy is safe and effective for the treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma in high intraocular pressure with proper treament perioperatively. Key words: Glaucoma,angle-closure,acute; Intraocular pressure, high; Trabeculectomy; Method; Efficiency
