Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy of the trabeculectomy for angle closure glaucoma with high intraocular pressure(IOP).Methods Total 56 cases(56eyes) of angle-closure glaucoma with high intraocular pressure(IOP) underwent trabeculectomy. The IOP,visual acuity and complications etc were observed. Results No severe complications such as choroidal hemorrhage and malignant glaucoma were observed in all cases during surgery and postoperatively.Among all of 56 eyes, the postoperative visual acuity improved and there were significant difference compared with the preoperational visual acuity(z=-9.038,P=0.000);the postoperative IOP descended and there were significant difference compared with the preoperational IOP(t=22.830,P=0.000).Conclusion Trabeculectomy for angle-closure glaucoma with persistent high intraocular pressure is safe and effective. It can keep the visual function from more damage but we should pay attention to the skill of the operation.
