Abstract
Objective To analyze the diagnosis and treatments of 13 eyes of acute retinal necrosis syndrome, and investigate more reasonable clinical solutions of it.Methods Retrospective studied the clinical manifestations and treatment measures of 13 eyes of 11 cases of acute retinal necrosis syndrome.Onset time of each case, ocular manifestations, treatment and outcome were analyzed. Results All the patients were followed up for 6 months, visual acuity improved in 9 eyes, remain unchanged 2 eyes, decrease 1 eye, untreated 1 eye with no light perception.Visual acuity improvement was related to the onset time, and it was not obvious related to whether or had no vitreoretinal surgery. The incidence of retinal detachment of patients who had the prophylactic peripheral retinal laser photocoagulation was less than those who did not. Conclusions The condition of all patients is effectively controlled when discharged from hospital, visual acuity improved. The length of time of onset is related to the restoration of vision.Early diagnosis and treatments have an important role in the final vision too.Preventive treatment of retinal laser photocoagulation can reduce the incidence of retinal detachment for ARN patients. Key words: Acute retinal necrosis syndrome; Diagnosis; Treatment
