Abstract
Fifty-six hypertensive diabetic patients (glyeosylated hemoglobin A1c 130/80 mm Hg.All the patients were treated for 12 weeks. In both groups, plasma yon Willebrand factor and urine albumin decreased significantly from baseline.Except for urine albumin,no significant inter-group difference in plasma van Willebrand factor and target blood pressure was observed.Benazepril and amledipine seem to show similar efficacy in lowering blood pressure and improving endothelial function, but benazepril may be more effective in kidney protection. Key words: Diabetes mellitus, type 2 ; Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors
