Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy of combination therapy with traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine for type A viral hepatitis. Methods 60 patients with type A viral hepatitis were randomly assigned to receive monotherapy with Western medicine ( control group ), or Western medicine combined with traditional Chinese medicine ( study group ).The efficacy was assessed in both groups. Results Levels of glutamate pyruvate transaminase, glutamic-oxal ( o ) acetic transaminase, and total bilirubin were lower in the study group than in the control group, with a significant difference ( P< 0.05 ).There was a significant difference in the total effectiveness rate between the study group and the control group ( 96.67% vs.73.33%,P< 0.05 ).No obvious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups. Conclusions Combination therapy with traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine for type A viral hepatitis is efficacious and safe.It is worth being used. Key words: Combination therapy with traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine; Type A viral hepatitis
