Abstract

Objective To analyze the effect of complementing rehabilitation therapy within 24 hours after intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) on motor function of patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI). Methods Sixty ACI patients treated in Yuci District People’s Hospital of Jinzhong from June 2014 to June 2017 were selected as research objects and were randomly divided into control group (30 cases) and study group (30 cases). Patients in control group were treated by routine treatment and IVT treatment, and patients in study group underwent early rehabilitation treatment within 24 h after IVT for 2 weeks. The Barthel index, Fugl-Meyer motor function (FMA), modified Ashworth grade (MAS), modified Rankin score before treatment, 2 weeks and 3 months after treatment and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results The Barthel index and FMA score of the two groups at 2 weeks and 3 months after treatment were significantly higher than those before treatment (P<0.05), and those scores in study group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05). The MAS and modified Rankin scales cores of the two groups at 2 weeks and 3 months after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and those scores in study group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05). The total rate of cerebral hemorrhage, pulmonary infection in study group (3.33%) was significantly lower that in control group (16.67%), P<0.05. Conclusions Starting rehabilitation treatment within 24 hours after IVT treatment can significantly improve the extremity motor function in ACI patients, relieve muscle tension, also can significantly reduce the incidence of cerebral hemorrhage and pulmonary infection, which can help to improve clinical effect, promote the activities of daily living ability and improve the quality of life, so it is worthy of clinical promotion and application. Key words: Intravenous thrombolysis; Acute cerebral infarction; Early rehabilitation training; Extremity motor function
