New teaching model of ophthalmology,otorhinolaryngology and stumatology for clinical medicine program students

There was many lectures and less practice opportunities in ophthalmology,otorhinolaryngology,and stomatology teaching system for clinical medicine program students.Many students have less interesting and motivation to study those subjects.Based on the principle oflearning by doing,we established a new teaching model of ophthalmology,otorhinolaryngology and stomatology for clinical medicine program students,which remarkably reduced the amount of lectures in the classroom,and provided more practice opportunities in the wards.Student performance evaluation was based on a competence-based assessment system,which including professional knowledge,clinical skills,communication skills,professional ethics,and faculty observations,peer and self-evaluation.The results showed that the new teaching model is feasible for clinical medicine program students.And it inspired clinical medicine program students with great energy and interest to study those subjects,and promotod the students'clinical skills,communication skills,self-confidence,and their practical and creative competence.
