Abstract
Objective To explore the role of C-reactive protein in the pathogenesis of progressive ischemic stroke. Methods 120 patients and 40 normal controls were investigated. The patients were divided into progressive is-chemic stroke(PIS)group 42 and non-progressive ischemic stroke(NPIS)group 78 based on clinical manifestation.Serum level of hs-CRP was measured.and the serum CRP levels in different groups were compared. Results There were significant differences in the levels of hs-CRP among PIS group、NPIS group and normal control group.Serum hsCRP level was correlated significantly with NIHSS Conclusion hs-CRP kvel may be closely related to ischemic stroke in progression. Key words: Cerebrovascular accident; C-reactive protein; Arteriosclerosis
