Effects of HLA antibodies on graft survival in kidney transplantation

Abstract

Data from 688 cases of kidney transDlantation has been analysed tO determine the effects of HLA antibodies on graft survival in kidney transplantation.PRA positive rate was 26.31%among the patients waiting for kidney transplantation.All patients with PRA≥30%had hyperacute rejection and 90.0% of these cases lost grafts though they received the kidneys from the donors with negative donor specific crossmatch.The results showed that the PRA value is very useful in predicting rejection and results of kidney transplantation.The PRA should be used as a routine tissue typing program in kidney transplantation.
