Abstract

Objective To seek a faster and with fewer complications suture method of abdominal wall. Methods Seven hundred and sixteen patients treating with laparotomy surgery were divided into two groups. The patients in group one suture abdominal wall with the full fascia continous suture and group two with layering intermittent suture. The operation time and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The full fascia continous suture in group one was superior to the layering intermittent suture in group two(P<0.05). So the results were statistically significant. Conclusions After laparotomy surgery, the operation times with full fascia continous suture abdominal wall was significantly shorter compare with traditional layering intermittent suture, and the complications were reduced significantly, comply with 3W principle and worth to popularize in general surgery. Key words: Layering intermittent suture; The full fascia continous suture; Coated synsyl suture
