Abstract
Objective To investigation the influence of body mass index (BMI) to the patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) in the same grade. Methods 267 patients with OSAHS were examined by PSG. According to BMI,divide the patients into normal group(BMI<24) and fat group (BMI≥ 24). According to AHI and arterial oxygen saturation, divide the patients into light grade, moderate grade, severe grade, and compare the sleep structure, breathing disorder, clinical symptoms, complications between the normal group and the fat group in the same grade. Results Sleep structure, breathing disorder,clinical symptoms,complications of patients with OSAHS in the same grade were significantly different among those with different BMI( P <0. 05), the fat group are more severe.Conclusions Obesity increases the severity of OSAHS, and with the grade of OSAHS increasing, the influence of obesity to OSAHS is more obvious.
