Abstract

[Objective]To analyze the features of sleep structure of patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAHS) of different severity.[Methods]86 adult patients diagnosed OSAHS between May 2008 and Jul 2010 were chosen as study group.According to BMI,the patients were divided into BMI24 group(n =21),24≤BMI28 group(n =36),BMI28 group(n =29).And 81 patients with primary snoring were selected as control group. All patients were monitored with polysomnography(PSG) throughout the night, and the sleep structure of patients with OSAHS of different BMI and primary snoring at night were compared.[Results]Compared with primary snoring group,OSAHS patient group showed no significant difference in sleep time and sleep efficiency(P0.05).OSAHS group had increased stageⅠ,and decreased stageⅡ,SWS%and REM%,and the differences were statistically (P0.05).The difference in the OSAHS classification group with high BMI(BMI≥28) was more significant.[Conclusion] OSAHS patients present more drowsy sleep, and less deep sleep, and with the BMI of OSAHS increasing, the influence of sleep structure is more obvious.
