Abstract
In order to carry out mid-to-long term syphilis control program better for the coming years and draw lessons from previous work, syphilis case-based surveillance data reported by various levels hospitals in Guangzhou obtained from a real-time web-based system from 2005 to 2016 was analyzed, and basic strategies for syphilis control were summarized as well. It showed that early syphilis (including primary syphilis and secondary syphilis) and congenital syphilis decreased annually 2.0%, 12.0% in the past eleven years and attained to the incidence of 7.66/100 000 and 27.0/100 000 live birth in 2016 respectively, and the amount of latent syphilis cases reached a number of 7 829 cases in 2016 with an annually increase of 14.0% since 2005. One integrating of HIV control program combining with STD prevention, and two systems including both surveillance net and lab syphilis detection, and three grippers which included improving masses awareness rate on syphilis knowledge, the rates of both standardizing treatment and accurate case reporting, and four types of high risk population of syphilis infection which included female sex workers, drug abuser, men who had sex with men (MSM), and pregnant women ( 1234 strategies in brief). Facing the challenge, some proposals for syphilis control were discussed in the present work. Key words: Syphilis; Prevalence; Control; Strategy
