Abstract
Objective To investigate the effectiveness of artificial duct implantation on nasolacrimal duct obstruction. Methods Under the guidance of the guide wire, artificial nasolacrimal duct was retrograde implanted from the lower orifice of nasolacrimal duct up to lacrimal sac after ethmoid nerve block anesthesia. Results Among the 20 patients, twenty eyes of 19 patients artificial duct were once successfully implanted, two eyes of 1 patient terminated operation because of the lower nasolacrimal duct stenosis,so the artificial duct can not be inserted. All patients were observed for 6 months, two eyes of 2 patients relapsed epiphora after operation 6 months, examination revealed pipelines clogging by granulation tissue, replantation after extubation, all cured, the others without epiphora and pyorrhea symptoms, lacrimal duct washed clearly. The total effective rate was 100%.Conclusions Artificial nasolacrimal duct implantation in the treatment of nasolacrimal duct obstruction does not change the nasolacrimal duct original anatomy channels,is easy to operate, has a better therapeutic effect,is the preferred treatment. Key words: Nasolacrimal duct obstruction; Artificial duct; Implantation
