Effect of improved retention enema with traditional Chinese medicine on severe acute pancreatitis

Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of improved retention enema with traditional Chinese medicine(chaishao chengqi decoction)on severe acute pancreatitis.Methods 53 severe acute pancreatitis patients were divided into observation group(n=28)and control group(n=25).Control group patients were treated with traditional enema,and observation group patients were treated with improved retention enema.Results The total effective rate in the observation group(96.5%)was better than that in control group(84%)(P＜0.05).Conclusions Improved retention enema with traditional Chinese medicine can increase the outcome and prevent from complication in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis.
