Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between stromal cell derived factor-1 (SDF-1)/CXC chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) biological axis and renal cell carcinoma metastasis,by detecting differential expression of CXCR4 between metastatic renal cell carcinoma and non-metastatic renal cell carcinoma and the difference in SDF-1 expression between the lymphnode and ureter. Methods Metastatic renal clear cell carcinoma specimens were collected from 32 cases, and non-metastatic renal clear cell carcinoma specimens from 31 cases. The difference in CXCR4 expression between metastatic renal cell carcinoma and non-metastatic renal cell carcinoma expression was detected by using immunohistochemistry. The lymph node specimens (n =30) and ureteral specimens (n =30) were selected from patients with renal cell carcinoma. The difference in the SDF-1 expression between the lymph node and ureter was compared. Results In 32 patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma, the CXCR4 expression score was (126.72 ± 74.72),and that in 31 cases of non-metastatic renal cell carcinoma was (63.39 ± 60.69) (t test,P <0.05).In 30 cases of lymph node specimens, the SDF-1 expression score was 145.00 ±46.42,and that in 30 cases of ureteral specimens was 63.50 ± 23.49,P < 0.05.Conclusion CXCR4 expression in metastatic renal cell carcinoma was higher than in non-metastatic renal cell carcinoma. The SDF-1 expression in lymph nodes was higher than in the ureter.
