Abstract

Objective To study the astigmatism after LASIK more accurately,we defined the new astigmatism a new concept,ie,Iatrogenic Astigmatism and investigated the treatment. Methods LASIK was performed on 1411 eyes of 724 patients.Iatrogenic astigmatism was calculated.Re-lasik or RGP were applied for those with obvious symptoms. Results Irregular iatrogenic astigmatism was found on 12 eyes (0.85%).Regular iatrogenic Astigmatism happened on 875 eyes (62.01%), of which 379 eyes (26.86%) was over 0.5 D and 91 eyes with obvious symptoms.35 eyes (2.48%) received re-lasik and 5 eyes (0.35%) RGP treatment, all got good results. Conclusion Iatrogenic astigmatism is common after LASIK with many influencing factors. Re-lasik or RGP are effective in the treatment. Key words: LASIK; Comea; Iatrogenic; Astigmatism; RGP
