Abstract
Objective To compare the curative effect of ertapenem, ceftriaxone and cefepime in treatment of community-acquired pneumonia in adults. Methods The data of 86 patients with communityacquired pneumonia in department of respiratory medicine of PLA General Hospital from November 2010 to May 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. The were divided into three groups:32 patients treated with ertapenem,28 patients treated with ceftriaxone,26 patients treated with cefepime. Results The curative effect in the ertapenem group(96.9%) was higher than that in the other groups(75.0%,73.1%)(P< 0.05). Conclusions The clinical improvement appears much better in the patients treated with ertapenem compared with ceftriaxone or cefepime. The analysis shows that ertapenem is safe and effective to community-acquired pneumonia in adults. Key words: Community-acquired pneumonia; Ertapenem; Ceftriaxone; Cefepime; Curative effect
