Abstract
Objective To determine the activity and side-effects of OXA combined with 5-Fu/ LV as the therapy for advanced gastric cancer. Methods Thirteen patients proved pathologically were given the intravenous administration of OXA (130 mg/m2,d1), LV (100 mg/m2, d 1-5) and 5-Fu(375 mg/m2, d1-5).Results Thirteen patients might be evaluated for clinical response.PR was observed in 5 patients(38.46%), SD in 4 (30.77%) and PD in 4(30.77%).The total response rate (CR+PR) was 38.46%.The tumor control rate(CR+PR+ SD)was 69.23%.The most common toxicities were observed as marrow suppression, gastrointestinal reactions and neurosensory toxicity. Conclusion The intravenous administration of OXA, LV and 5-Fu is a well-tolerated,effective,and feasible schedule. Key words: Advanced gastric cancer; Oxaliplatin; Leucovorin; 5-fluorouracil; Chemotherapy
