Abstract

Objective To discuss the safety and effect of trabeculectomy of double-incision combined with phacoemulsification for patients with cataract and glaucoma. Methods Two-site approach combined surgeries of trabeculectomy and phacoemulsification on 52 cases (54 eyes) with cataract and glaucoma were done. The preoperative visual acuity, postoperative visual acuity, intraocular pressure (IOP) and complications were observed. Results The patients had been followed-up for 6 - 12 months. The postoperative visual acuity improved,the corrected visual acuity was no less than 0.3 in 38 eyes (70.4%). The preoperative IOP [(31.30±6.37 ) mmHg] was dropped to (14.96±2.44) mmHg after surgery. No severe complication was observed. Conclusion Two-site approack combined surgery of trabeculectomy Two-site approach and phacoemulsification is safe and effective for patients with cataract and glaucoma.
