Abstract
Sepsis is caused by infection of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), further development will evolve into severe sepsis, sepsis shock, and as a result of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). It is the most common diseases and the leading causes of death of the critically ill patient. Thus, it is a big challenge of the intensive care unit (ICU). At present, the diagnosis relies mainly on the nonspecific physiological conditions and culture of pathogen detection. This leads to a clear diagnosis and treatment of delayed and the overuse of antibiotics.Sepsis needs new biomarkers that can help treatment decisions and adding information screening, diagnosis, risk stratification, response to treatment and monitoring. This article discusses some of the more clinical research and the latest biomarkers. Key words: Sepsis; Biological markers; Diagnosis
