Clinical observation of canalith reposition on benign paroxysmal positional vertigo

Abstract

Objective To study the clinical efficacy of canalith reposition on benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV).Methods In the eighty patients with BPPV,the 45 cases with anterior semicircular canal were treated with Epley reposition method and the other 35 patients with the horizontal semicircular canal were treated with barbecue tumble method.The clinical efficacy was observed.Results The effective rate of the Epley reposition method for anterior semicircular canal patients was 95.5％ (43/45) and the effective rate of the barbecue tumble method for horizontal semicircular canal patients was 91.4％ (32/35).Conclusion The canalith reposition method treated with BPPV patients has high clinical efficacy,simple procedures,and no obvious adverse reactions.
