Abstract
Objective To study the relation between serum Cu and cancer. Methods Cu in serum is checked and measured using atomic absorption spectrophotometric(AAS)method in 80 cases of cancers, and the same trace element is measured in 60 health people. Results The level of Cu was higher in cancer patients group than of in health group, and the difference was statistical significance.(P<0.001), to contrast the level of Cu between cancer groups, the level of serum Cu in lung cancer group is higher than that of other cancer groups, such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma(P< 0.05), breast cancer( P < 0.05), cardiac cancer( P< 0.05), esophageal carcinoma(P< 0.05).Gonclusion The level of Cu is higher in cancer patients, and may be a diagnostic marker for lung cancer. Key words: Cancer; Lung cancer; Serum Cu; AAS
