Abstract

Objective To observe clinical characteritics of retinal tear associated with posterior vitreous detachment. Methods The data of 32 eyes of 32 cases of retinal tears associated with posterior vitreous detachment from Jun. 2017 to Jun. 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. All cases were treated with retinal photocoagulation. Results Retinal photocoagulation of 32 eyes were successful. The laser spots were well formed at 3 weeks after surgery. Conclusion Posterior vitreous detachment must be performed to check the retina through dilated pupil. Retinal photocoagulation is an effective method for the treatment of retinal tears associated with posterior vitreous detachment. Key words: Detachment, posterior vitreous; Tear, retinal; Photocoagulation, retinal
