Therapeutic evaluation of valsartan combined with bailing capsule on proteinuria in nephropathy

Objective To investigate the effect of combinative use of valsartan with bailing capsule on proteinuria in nephropathy. Methods The enrollment included 60 cases of chronic kidney disease who haven't been given renal biopsy because of various kinds of reasons and all of their urinary albumin excretion(UAE) were between (0.8-3.0) g/24 h. These patients were randomly divided into two groups:control group(n=28) and treatment group(n=32),both of two groups were given valsartan 160 mg/d,and given low salt and low high quality protein diet.we also gave them some relevant treatment,for example,control infection,diuresis,supply calcium,vitamin D,control blood pressure,etc. The treating group were given bailing capsule 3.0 g/d additionally.All the therapies lasted for 6 months,urinary albumin excretion and renal function were measured before and after the treatment. Results After 6 months,the curative effect of control group was 35.71%,and the treatment group was 56.25%;Both group's proteinuria were decreased,and the treatment group decreased more obvious. Conclusions Urine protein can be decrease regardless of treating with valsartan only or treating with valsartan combined bailing capsule on kidney disease. And the effect of latter therapy is better than former. Key words: Valsartan; Bailing Capsule; Proteinuria
