Abstract
Objective To investigate caregiver's synchronize education on quality of life and postoperative rehabilitation in patients with colon cancer, and to provide the basis for better implementation of healthy education. Methods A total of 60 patients with colon cancer admitted to Nanjing Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from September 2011 to March 2017 were selected as the study subjects. All patients underwent surgical treatment and were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received routine healthy education, while the caregivers of the observation group was given synchronize education. The knowledge of disease at discharge and the negative emotions, quality of life and rehabilitation effects 6 months after discharge were compared between the two groups. Results At discharge, the disease knowledge scores of the observation group and the control group were (27.47±1.39) and (25.02±1.65) , and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) . The scores of Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) scores in the observation group 6 months after discharge were (32.00±8.26) and (31.14±8.73) , which were lower than those in the control group (39.00±9.42) and (39.83±9.15) respectively, with statistical significance (P<0.05) . The scores of quality of life and rehabilitation effect in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05) . Conclusions Caregiver synchronous health education can improve the disease knowledge of colon cancer patients, significantly improve the negative emotions of patients, improve the quality of life of patients, and be conducive to postoperative rehabilitation.
