Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes of C-reactive protein(CRP) in acute exacerbation of chroric obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD),and to explore its clinical significance. Methods The CRP level, white blood cell count(WBC),lung function and gas index of 68 patients with AECOPD were determined before treatment and after treatment. Results After treatment for 5 days and 7 days, the CRP level, lung function and gas indexwere significantly improved (P <0.05).Conclusion CRP level increased significantly in AECOPD.The more serious of the sick condition, lung function damage and respiratory failure, the higher level of the CRP.CRP level has positive correlation with the severity of the disease. Key words: AECOPD;  C-reactive protein;  Clinical significance
