Abstract

Objective To observe the combined carbamazepine doxepin in the treatment of idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia the efficacy and adverse reactions.Methods Carbamazepine combined doxepin (treatment) group 60 eases,carbamazepine (control)group of 60 patients were diagnosed as idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia,using visual analogue scales for pain score,by 1 week after treatment,2 weeks,1 month and 3 months visual analogue scale to determine efficacy.Results The efficacy of the treatment group were significantly higher than the treatment group the pain score ( respectively,5.3 ± 1.82,1.8 ± 1.79,1.6 ± 0.96,0.62 ± 0.94 ) wassignificantly lower than the control group (6.1 ± 1.74,4.5 ± 1.27,3.36 ± 1.22,2.7 ± 1.14 ) (P < 0.05 ),carbamazepine dosage,adverse reaction rates and extent of lower than those in the control group.Conclusion Both methods are valid for idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia,but the efficacy of the treatment group improved,and the incidence of adverse reactions is low,more secure.
