Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of reformed scleral flap and adjustable suture in trabeculectomy. Methods Ninety-six cases (126 eyes) with acute primary angle closure glaucoma were divided into two groups randomly.Group A:traditional trabeculectomy; group B:reformed scleral flap and adjustable suture during operation. The follow-up period was over 3-12months,mean 5.3 months.Clinical observations were carried out on postoperative the best corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure, anterior chamber formation, filtering bleb and complications.Resuits Compared with the two groups, the best corrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure, anterior chamber formation, filtering bleb and complications were statistically significant differences (P <0.05).Conclusions The combined application of reformed scleral flap and adjustable suture in trabeculectomy can improve the best corrected visual acuity, reduce effectively intraocular pressure, maintain anterior chamber, form functional filtering bleb and reduce the complications. It is a better method than traditional trabeculectomy. Key words: Reformed scleral flap; Adjustable suture; Glaucoma
