Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of the combined surgery of cataract and glaucoma for cataract with secondary glaucoma. Methods Phacoemulsification and IOL implantation combined with trabeculectomy under tunnel sclera flap was accomplished on 28 eyes of 28 patients suffering from cataract with secondary glaucoma. Results The postoperative visual acuity was <0.1 on 13 cases, and O.1 ~ 1.0 on 15 cases. The postoperative intraocular pressure(IOP) was normal in 25 cases.Follow-up was 3 to 6 months. The main postoperative complications were corneal edema and shallow anterior chamber. Conclusion Phacoemulsification and IOL implantation combined with trabeculectomy under tunnel sclera flap is safe and effective for cataract with secondary glaucoma. Key words: Phacoemulsification ; Trabeculectomy;  Cataract;  Glaucoma, secondacy
