Efficacy of Combined Phacoemulsification and Trabeculectomy for the Treatment of Glaucoma with Cataract

Objective To explore the clinical effect of glaucoma and cataract with ultrasonic phacoemulsification for cataract surgery combined with trabeculectomy.Methods Thirty-four patients with glaucoma and cataract were treated with ultrasonic phacoemulsification for cataract surgery combined with trabeculectomy.Postoperative vision,pressure and complications were observed.Results Postoperative vision of all patients were improved,and twenty-nine (76.3%) patients',best corrected visual acuity ≥0.3,and intraocular pressure were reduced to within the normal range.Postoperative complications included corneal edema,increased intraocular pressure,and anterior chamber fiber-like exudate,and no other serious complications.Conclusion The surgery can restore vision,reduce intraocular pressure,and it is safe,worthy of clinical application.
