Abstract
Abstract A gas-liquid chromatographic method is described for 4 newly developed pyrethroid insecticides: 3-phenoxybenzyl(±)-cis,trans-3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2- dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate, (±)-α-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl(±)-2,2,3,3-tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylate, (±)-α-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl(±)-cis,trans-3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate, and (±)-α-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (±)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methylbutyrate. The compounds were stable and separated at 230°C on columns of 5% OV-101 on Gas-Chrom Q. All are strongly electron-capturing, allowing quantitation at the 20 pg level with a 63Ni electron capture detector.
