Implicature in Humor Used in CollegeHumor's Vlog

Implicature is a component of pragmatic that studies about what the speaker said, which is actually different from the speaker meant. But, in the process of conversation the speakers and the hearers have to cooperate with each other, to avoid the flouting maxim. Regarding it, this study is aimed to identify the types of implicature, to find out the intended meaning behind the speaker’s utterance, and to analyze the flouting maxims. This research has used Grice’s theory to explain the types of conversational implicature, and the flouting maxim of cooperative principle and used theory of Raskin’s in humor. In analyzing data, the researcher used descriptive qualitative method to describe the implicature humor that used in CollegeHumor’s vlog. The data were collected and selected by the technique of document analysis. The result shows that 75 data from the subtitle the channel of CollegeHumor’s vlog. There is three of finding research, the first is types of humor implicature that consist 25 data, and they are 16 data of generalized conversational humor implicature, 9 data of particularized conversational humor implicature. The second is kinds of humor that consist 25 data, they are 2 data of jokes, 23 data of spontaneous conversational implicature, and the last finding is about the types of flouting maxim that consist of 25 data, which 2 data of flouting maxim of quality, 8 data of flouting maxim of quantity, 6 data of flouting maxim of relation, and 9 data of flouting maxim of manner that the speakers utter in CollegeHumor’s vlog.
