Abstract

This yearbook provides current information on training and performance improvement. It is presented in six parts. Part one, 'The state of training: industry data, trends, and statistics', provides statistical information about the field of training and human resource development (HRD) and contains the following articles: The top HR issues of 2000 / HRFocus; To have and have a lot: trainers salaries 1999 / Kevin Dobbs; HR salary survey / Mark Avery; The shape of things to come: training careers in the 21st century / Dave Zielinski; Labour forecast: gray skies, worker drought continues / Richard W. Judy; The state of learning organizations / Steve Barth; The latest data on expenditures, types of training, and more; Industry report, information-technology training: teaching computer skills to American workers / Training Magazine; Training in the old economy / Anthony P.
