Abstract

Xinjiao No.16 is an early mature hybrid hot pepper variety bred by Shihezi Vegetable Research Institute.The plant is strong and compact and is suitable for high density planting.The average plant is about 60 cm high.The main stem produces first female flower at 7-8th node and set fruits with very high probability.The average fruit is about 70 grams and the fruit set is concentrated with high early yield.667 m2 yield is 3 500-4 500 kg.The fruit is short with thin and slightly wrinkle wall and high pungency.This variety is suitable for production in protected culture or open field in northwestern China.
