Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the distribution and drug resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii in traditional Chinese medicine hospital so as to guide the reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS The A.buamannii strains were collected from the submitted specimens obtained from 338 patients who were hospitalized from Jan 2010 to Sep 2012,then the isolation, identification, and drug susceptibility testing of the isolated strains were performed with the use of VITEK-2 Compact, and the drug resistance rate was determined by the guidelines of CLSI 2010.RESULTS Among 338cases of patients, there were 275(81.4%)cases aged more than 60 years old.Totally 338 strains of A.baumannii were isolated, among which 224(72.2%)strains were isolated from sputum specimens;the A.baumannii strains were mainly isolated from the ICU,encephalopathy acupuncture department, and pulmonary disease department, accounting for 36.4%,23.7%,and 18.0%,respectively.The drug resistance rate of the A.baumannii to meropenem was the lowest(12.7%),followed by imipenem(18.6%)and piperacillintazobactam(21.3%),however,the drug resistance rates to cefotetan and aztreonam were the highest, which were97.6%and 94.4%,respectively.CONCLUSIONThe A.baumannii strains are highly drug resistant,it is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of drug resistance of the A.baumannii and reasonably use antibiotics based on the result of drug susceptibility testing so as to prevent the severe nosocomial infections.
