Abstract

Isoamyl benzoate was synthesized from isoamyl alcohol and benzoic acid in the presence of ammonium ferric sulfate dodecahydrate. The yield of the ester could reach 82.3% under amount of substance ratio of benzoic acid, isoamyl alcohol and ammonium ferric sulfate were 1:4:0.17, refluxing and water segrating for 4h.
