Abstract
Objeclive The aim of this study is to investigate the clinical and electrocardiographic character- istics of Brugada syndrome and idiopathic J wave, so to compare the similarities and differences between the two enti- ties. Methods Ten patients with Brugada syndrome and eight patients with idiopathic J wave were studied. Results All of the patients have similar clinical and electrocardiographic manifestation, but there were still some differences in pattern: The R'wave was larger than R wave, SF segment elevation and T wave inversion manifested mostly in V1- V3 leads in patients with Brugada syndrome, the pattern was comparatively constant;J wave was smaller than R wave in patients with idiopathic J wave, this appeared mostly in V4 -V6 leads without T wave invasion. J wave could be changed obviously acutely by drug or at exercise. Conclusion Patients with Brugada syndrome and idiopathic I wave have similar manifestation, and the pathogenesis may be even same, but the influencing generate region is distinct. The major difference is in the electrocardiographic manifestation.
