Clinical analysis of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome in children

Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical features and diagnosis and the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).Methods Totally 43 cases with OSAHS were reviewed including clinical features and cephalometric analsis,19 of them were studied of polysomnography(PSG).Results The major symptoms of patients with OSAHS are snoring in sleep,breathing opening mouth,apnea,hearing loss.Follow-up 3 months to 1 year,43 patients were preformed with adentotonsillectomy,upper airway obstruction caused by adentonosillar hypertrophy were enlarged remarkably.32 cases main symptoms(snoring,mouth breathing and apnea)disappeared completely,8 cases were relief 3 cases were reappear.Conclusions Children with OSAHS has signification themselves;PGS is the major means for diagnosing.surgery is main method for treating.
