Observation on the effect of MEBO in patient on treatment of diabetic foot.

Objective To observe on the therapeutic efficacy of MEBO in patient on treatment of diabetic foot(DF).Methods From January 2004 to January 2010,52 patients with diabeic foot were admitted to the department of endocrinology.These patients were randomly entered into 2 groups,26 patients in each group.Each patient was treated with whole and local,and MEBO treated group also used MEBO locally twice everyday.The standard of curative effect was defined as reduction of uncle area and relief of symptoms.The variation of ulcer area and clinical symptoms between two groups were compared according to the standard.Results Comparing the clinical curative effects of two groups,the effective rate of the group treated with MEBO was 92.30%,the effective rate of the group treated without MEBO was 88.46%.No statistically significant difference was observed between the MEBO group and the control group(P0.05).The average time of curative of the MEBO group was significant short than that of the control group(P0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of MEOB in the the treatment of diabetic foot was no difference in the effective rate but can shorten the time of cure significantly.
