Effect of mixed salt and alkali stress on seed germination of Trifolium repens

An experiment was conducted to study the germination rate and germination index of Trifolium repens seeds treated with different concentrations of mixed liquor of NaCl,Na2SO4,NaHCO3 and Na2CO3.The results showed that low salt concentration of mixed liquor could promoted the germination of T.repens seeds according to the obvious increase of germination rate,germination power and germination index under mixed salt stress,On the contrary,high salt concentration of mixed liquor could inhibit T.repens seed germination and the germination rate,germination power and germination index all de-creased.Salt stress and alkali stress which existed the same time,were not only affect seeds germination,but also interacted.
