Abstract

The temperature field distribution of the highly intensified diesel engine piston in static compression state and the thermo-mechanical coupling stress was calculated, compared with only consider the mechanical load, the results showed that the mechanical load is the major stress. Based on the design of experiments method, using the Design Exploration module, height of piston top land and space of piston pin bore as input parameters, the piston mass, maximum temperature, maximum mechanical stress and maximum thermo-mechanical coupling stress as the output parameters, the piston of the response surface analysis results show between the two input parameters, the effect of height of piston top land on the piston stress influence is the most obvious one, and the space of piston pin bore is the most obvious one. The two input parameters have no obvious effect on piston temperature. Based on this, the piston mass and the maximum thermo-mechanical coupling stress as the optimization objective, multi-objective and multidisciplinary optimization design on the piston, after the optimization, the piston mass reduced 4.7%, the maximum thermo-mechanical coupling stress is reduced 1.3%.
