Abstract
The extraction characteristics of systems containing dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6 (DCH18C6) and dicyclohexyl-24-crown-8 (DCH24C8) in chlorinated hydrocarbons at a metal concentration (Sr, Cs, T1) of 5 x 10/sup -2/ N were investigated using radioactive labels. It was shown that high values of the distribution coefficients D are observed in the presence of a fourfold excess of the crown ester. The addition of ethyl alcohol to the system has virtually no effect on the extraction. The increase in the size of the cavity of the crown ester in the sequence from DCH18C6 to DCH24C8 for cesium leads to no less than a fourfold increase in D. The values of D permit the investigated metals to be arranged in the following sequence: Sr > T1 >> Cs.
