Abstract
The results show that there are 1 035 species of native seed plants (belonging to 469 genera in 155 families) at Mt. shenposhan; Both tropical and temperate distribution types account for a considerable proportion of the total, but the former is a little more important than the later. Pantropic, North Temperate and E. Asia patterns are more concentrated in this area, and this flora is much more closely allied to that at Mt. Dupangling situated in 115°08^E, 25°20^N. So the flora is obviously a transitional flora from the South-subtropical to the Temperate. It belongs to the West Nanling District. Many archaic and relic elements are conserved since the Tertiary. Moreover, there are rich endemic elements: 4 Chiense endemic families, 15 genera and 478 species (of which only 5 species are endemic to West Nanling District).
