Abstract
A new chemical method for preparation of dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) from acetone is described. This method improves the synthesis of a stable precursor of DHAP, which is the necessary substrate of several aldolases. Thus, monosaccharides and their derivatives could be obtained from this compound by aldolase-catalyzed condensations.
