Analysis of the relationship between open innovation, knowledge management capability and dual innovation

Abstract

The essence of innovation lies in the utilisation of knowledge. To ensure innovation and sustainability, this study constructs an internal linkage framework for open innovation, knowledge management capability and dual innovation. Research results show that both open innovation and knowledge management capability have a positive influence on dual innovation. The impact of inward-oriented open innovation on exploitation innovation is more prominent than that of outward-oriented open innovation. Whereas the impact of outward-oriented open innovation on exploration innovation is more prominent than that of inward-oriented open innovation. Knowledge management capability partially mediates open innovation and dual innovation while open innovation influences dual innovation.
