Abstract

Voltage sag forming method considering transient process is proposed to simulate voltage sag caused by short circuit fault happened in infinite grid. Voltage after fault is composed of steady and transient component. Steady component can be obtained by symmetrical component method and transient component can be gotten from damping function. Transient component is not only related to circuit parameters, but also related to fault moment. Single phase to ground fault whose impendence is inductive which is the most common in short circuit fault is chosen as the example to analyze steady and transient component of voltage sag. Then the proposed method is testified by simulation.
