Abstract
Determinations were made of the abrasive and micro-hardness of the enamel of randomly selected animals of representative breeds of Bos indicus and Bos taurus. Animals of ages 4 to 5 and 31 to 33 months were used. The brittle hardness of intact surface enamel was determined with a Leitz Miniload hardness tester and the abrasive hardness with equipment especially designed for this purpose.
